Man Size/ The Phatory Gallery, New York USA 2012
Man Size occupied this revisited space examining ideas around absence incorporating window text with an external touch sensor activator, photography portraiture, air pilot work clothing, and seven counterclocks. The timepieces were wall-mounted/ barometers that reacted to the people in the gallery. Each of these timepieces incorporated its movement sensor; its individual counter/clock was triggered by human movement but together responded to the collective. Each unit acted in its personal space while the hands of each clock activated a single elliptical blade - together creating a playful kinetic harmony. Two images of men, a couple maybe are pinned to the wall as part of this group of collective ideas. A solitary figure in a reimagined flight suit stands alone, set apart from the rest waiting for its role to be reimagined again.
